Can anyone tell me if the rear differential busing Part #89058605 which is supposed to help cure driveline clunk is actually made for the CTSV? My dealer claims it is not. An official GM part name and description sure would be helpful in getting my dealer to install it.
Thank you!
When I had the bushing replaced on my V it had that part number if I remember correctly and It eliminated alot of driveline clunking. Do a search for a thread started by Clintonwmills. The new bushing had the same part number as the one originally installed on the car but it's improved.
Vrocks:
Thanks. I did give that part number to my dealer (see title of thread and I did get it from Clintonwmills (thanks!)). Problem is the dealer still says it is not made for the V.
He just called as I'm typing this and he is going to get back to me and tell me exactly what car he thinks that part number is for.
I was the one who posted the part # 89058605 for the bushing. This was listed on my invoice after my lastest service. I can't confirm that this is in fact a CTS-V specific part, but it is listed on my invoice. It also cured ALL my issues with a "clunking" driveline. Everytime I engaged or disengaged the clutch I had a very significant "clunk". That is now gone with the new bushing.

Hmmm. Thanks for that. I'll stay on it as I sure would like to reduce it. As of right now, the Dealer has not called back with further info. I will post as an FYI for others when he does.

Here is my experience :
I took this part number (that I got off this message board) to the dealer when I had the rear changed. They ordered both the rear and the bushing part, by this number and of course the rear part number. When I looked at the final invoice, I noticed the part was NOT on there. When I brought this to the service managers attention, he said it was not called out by itself because it came with the new rear. He also verified this with the mechanic.
My parade clunk is all gone for what it is worth....
