You want to drive an Escalade....it's gonna cost you $150 Per fill up.

Is it true that its better to use 87 instead of 93 for our trucks

I have done some very unscientific testing of 87 and 91. With 87 the engine seemed noisier and gas mileage seemed to have suffered. The lost in gas mileage offset the savings in gasoline cost... not completely but reducing the advantage to the point where it didn't make sense for me any more. So I am running 91 now.

Do u think it made a difference?

Like lousy investor said, You get less milage with the 87 octane and it offsets the savings. If you want better milage get a motorcycle too :)

I've tried regular gas once and it stumbled really bad on acceleration. May have just been bad gas since I bought it on a road trip from an unfamiliar station. I always use premium and try to get the no ethanol stuff when I can.

Buy a Prius.

I use only super unleaded. I like the slightly increased power and gas mileage and just thing the engine runs better.

I tried regular as well and felt the loss in power. I also use 91 octane as it gives you the better mileage to offset the cost and your system runs cleaner because of the higher rating. Mileage is also heavily dependent on driving as well. I know that if I drive around the 100 on the highway it is much better than but gets drastically worse at 125 and the higher I go the worse it gets. Same for stopping and accelerating in the city.

I only use premium it only a couple bucks more on fill up. You knew when buying a Escalade it wasn't for the gas mileage!

They seem to run better on higher octane. To save gas I simply try to plan my errands better and I always call home before I get there so I dont have to head out again. I dont get too worried because it is what it is....a big vehicle. We also have two other cars and if what needs to be done makes more sense I will take one of the other vehicles. I also never fill up the escallade, that way my wife wont drive it! :)

I used regular gas and havent noticed any problems.

Premium only for me since the first fill up. I have 26's and get about 11 mpg. I didn't buy it for it's gas mileage!
