My V has a tad over 6k miles on it. Truly a great car with my only complaints being the sloppy shifter, transmission slop in 1st and second (drivetrain lash) and a nav DVD deck that is becoming ever so lightly noisier. This bothers me the most. It sounds like the servo motor that moves the laser head is the culprit.

I intend to upgrade the shifter soon.

Has anyone had issues with the nav DVD deck?

Also, this car is about to go in for it's first dealer service, per the book. (It had an early oil change.) Is there a list online anywhere of the service bulletins that apply my 2004 V?

Funny story for you all:

My 3 year old stashed my keys last week. I searched for over an hour. My wife kept telling me to take my F350 to work. Nah, I wanted to drive the V! I kekpt looking and found them stashed in one of his train cars.

Just noticed mine started to make noise today. Like a screechy gear whine. Each time at start up. Seemed to last as long as the head was searching then stopped.I ejected and reinserted DVD, no noise. I could only hear the head searching, but his seemed normal and tolerable. I will monitor.

the cooler weather has my DVD doing the same thing. That is one of the numerous minor noises that I am hoping that is cured by the installation of the Corsa exhaust.

Check the FAQ (http://www.cadillacfaq.com/) for all of you ranswers about issues and bulletins. Mine goes in tuesday for the recalls, oild temp reflash, and the installation of the mystery bushing that seems to rduce the drivetrain lash.

Insist that the dealer change your rear differential fluid under warranty; They should gladly do it. Try the same thing with the trans fluid, but they may charge for it.

Those of us that have done it have been glad we did once we saw the level of dirt/particles in the old fluid.

Good luck.

Don't forget the limited slip additive.
