: Aiming foglights

I never used the foglights with the stock bulbs because they were aimed so low. I figured I'd get them aimed correctly after installing the hids. After poking around back behind the housings tonight turning the nuts and screws of what I thought were the adjusters I could only aim them lower. What am I missing? What I tried adjusting were two star bolts and nuts.

There is a 7mm hex bolt that passes through a plastic disk on the back of the lamp housing. If you turn it ccw it will raise the beam. I turned mine 1 and one half turns out.

I know the one you're talking about. I sure thought that was just a mounting bolt. I'll give it a try, thanks!

Thanks got them adjusted. I have read that for properly adjusted headlights it should be between a 2.1 to 2.5" drop at 25'. As for fogs, I've read anywherebfrom the same 2.1-2.5" all the way to a 4" drop at 25'. So at 10' my fogs should have dropped between about 1" and just under 2". Mine dropped almost 1 foot. So they were hitting the ground around 15-20'. I adjusted them up so they drop about 2" at 10' and I'll try them out tonight.

You'll be amazed.if I recall you have the 55 W HIDs- they will light the road up like it's daytime.

Yes I have the 55w. Tried them out for the first time tonight while driving. It was raining and I had them on in a well lit area. When I got back into the darker area I turned them off and almost thought I'd killed my headlights, too. What a huge difference! I think I have them just about aimed correctly. I'll check them again at night when I get back into my hometown. I highly recommend this upgrade!

I did get them from Retro solutions but I got it through their website. I had to get a special setup for our MB and you can also find coupon codes out there.
