You guys are going to love this. I traded in my wife's van this week for a chevrolet Equinox. Coincidently it had the premium sound system and XM radio. Well the sound is fantastic, blows the caddy away and the XM has plenty of bass and thumps nicely. This from a car costing almost half. If I didnt know better I would say that the XM set up is screwed up in the CTS. Why should the chev have so much more fidelity than the caddy? Its like the XM is in a flat mode..

Stupid question.....But you have adjusted your eq settings for XM, right?

I've been saying the same thing since day one. Not necessarily that XM has anything to do with it, but the sound in the V is downright awful. The sound in my 2000 Silverado is twice as good as my V.....it's really quite sad. Factory Bose car audio is over-hyped crap.

I've found that the fidelity and sound quality varies considerably between various XM stations. Some sound better than FM and others not. I tune out the latter. Overall I'm satisfied with the Bose system except for mediocre base response.

Of course I have the Eq settings up. I have farted around with that since I get the car. That is why I added a bass amp and driver. I have the 2 cars next to each other. The difference is day and night on the same stations. Something is not right and its not the xm signal... :rant2:
