Pretty scary merging into traffic a couple of times.
The check engine light came on twice.
Resealing gas cap and sitting overnight the light reset.
Now I am on the third tank of gas and changed brand.
No cough, no stall today.
Is it the gas?
Anyone else have this happen?

600 miles so far

Call onstar (its free) and ask them what the check engine light is.... Then look it up here:

My experience is that if the gas cap is loose, the nav screen will tell you (or it did for me when I did no tighten it enough)...

Doubt it's the gas... sounds like a fuel supply problem... injectors??
I'd take it to the dealer.

Thanks guys.
It did the same thing, but not as bad this morning.
After it was warm it didn't do it again till I headed home from work.
Ditto for ride after work.
It is like this for the first mile or so then fine.
Sure is a nice car when its' warm!
Living in Los Angeles I think it's anybodies guess what they are putting in the gas.

Phew. It's a silver car. Mine's black, I'm sure I won't have this problem.

Update:
The check engine light comes on occassionaly.
Goes away after sitting overnight.
Called "Onstar" when it happened and they couldn't "see" anything.
Will put a few hundred miles on this weekend driving up the coast.
Car runs fine when warm.
Will probably end up in the dealers service bay on monday if this light thing doesn't resolve itself.
Also, anybody else notice that the gas filler "floats", that is, it is not secured to the body and you can wiggle the assembly?
750 miles now.

LATEST UPDATE

Got car back from dealer.
Turns out that the check engine indicator was a Mass Airflow Sensor fault.
They replaced the unit and now car runs excellant when cold.
They tightened the gas filler neck shroud which was loose.
