00-03 will interchange mechanically, but you cannot swap a VIN 9 (DTS) engine with a VIN Y (Deville) engine right away. The output and the redline is different due to different intake cams and programming. It will start up and drive but you will get unexpected and unknown results.
To fit a 03 Deville engine into a 00 DTS, you would need to swap the intake cams. What kind of problems are you facing, that lead you to perform an engine swap?
i thought it was 00-02 not 00-03
but perhaps im wrong but could have sworn or maybe thats for a direct swap without electrical changes but also only if the Y is going into a Y or 9 is going into what was a 9
