Good evening Fellas,

I am currently in the process of purchasing a 2006 White Diamond STS4 V6 with the 1SC package with 100,000KM's. Being that i work for a Cadillac dealer i was wondering if you guys could fill me on on some issues or things to be aware of especially when considering the higher mileage of this vehicle. The vehicle is in pristine condition and drives like new so as of now it needs nothing. I will be purchasing a warranty for this vehicle as to avoid any ridiculous repair costs that may arise. I am getting this STS for a really good price and would like to keep it for about three years and hope to have a reliable daily driver.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Wait, "higher mileage"?

That's about 63K miles on an '06. I consider my '05 with 93K miles, 'bout 147K KM's, about average. You've scored!

You'll likely need to tighten the intake manifold bolts, really easy with just the right tools, and you may have front brake pads on the near-horizon, but otherwise, anything failing should present itself.

FWIW, these cars appear to consume batteries at an accelerated rate...just so you know.

Hey mckellyb, thanks for the reply.

I am extremly excited to be the new owner of this STS as i work for the biggest Cadillac dealer in Canada and received this vehicle through an appraisal (Inventory Specialist). With that said i have the oppertunity to purchase this vehicle for a very decent price as well as have full maintenance records. I spoke to the original owner and he took extremly good care of this vehicle which is really hard to find nowadays. I will keep you guys posted on my purchase and will upload a picture later this evening of my future wife :p

I agree that the car described seems to be 'low miles' rather than the reverse. However, the loose intake manifold bolts are common on the V8's not the V6's.

Secondly, while the STS does place a strong demand on a battery, a good one will last a long time. Mine is original after 6 years and going strong. I replaced my wife's with an Optima Red Top a few months ago. (That car was a Hertz rental and saw a year of rough use.)

Yeah i am extremly lucky, I have been working here for over 3 Years now and have 5 friends from high school who are certified GM technicians. I am still quite worried though. Unfortunately the extended warranty is insanely expensive so i have not made that decisions yet.

3 year 60,000KM Powertrain warranty - $2,900.00

3 Year 60,000 Bumper to bumper - $5000.00

I drove it all Night and would be lying if I said I wasn't in love with this car. Most people always ask why Cadillac? Why not BMW or Mercedes.... I just smile.

White,

Welcome and best of luck with your new ride.

I note that your car has B20 Eucalyptus wood trim listed.

Please see our thread regarding the wood trim recognition:
