I'm about to get my windows tinted this weekend. Don't know which to get (tried searching online if these are metallic tints). Do any of these 2 brands have issues w/ GPS, XM? Also, any one have pictures of their STS with tints? Can't decide between 20 or 35%, but thinking will go w/ the 20% due to the tan interior.

My son is a professional window tinter and has been for the last 15 years and he said the LLumar film is far superior to the other brands and that LLumar will last 15 years under the Florida sun with no problems an it doesn't interfere with the Navi nor XM.

shitty buzz that you guys have those inspections the only time you would get bugged around here for tint would be if you were not on the good side of the police force. i have both of my cars tinted i know where i got it done i had two different types to choose from one had life time warenty but it was kinda silver looking and the other had 3 year warenty and it was black and i love it my sts might be a tad dark tho sometime have to look twice when turning at night.
Some states are so serious and others' enforcement is a joke. I think it makes good sense to know your local laws and if you choose to go darker, be prepared to deal with the consequences. I love the look of dark tint but there are many down-sides.
Simply stated, I prefer not to give LEO's any reason to stop me. I'm not doing anything wrong but I've known people falsely suspected and spent a bundle to prove it. You may not mind a good fight. My time is too valuable to me. Opinions vary.
I do also understand the cops' point of view... Kevlar won't stop everything and it must take a lot of courage to approach some of those cars when you can't see the driver or what they are holding.

In AZ, you can have limo around the back and 35% around the front, which is plenty. My car had tint on it already when I purchased it. I don't think it is the legal maximum allowed, but pretty close. It's plenty dark and keeps the car cool.

im a lumar tint installer/dealer, its the only tint i would use, lumar has metallic tint as well as non metallic, its hit and miss if it affects your radio gps and other electronics, sometimes if there is a definate side window that has those electronics in it we will put the non metallic tint in that one just so there isnt a problem, i have a sts and i have 5% metallic on mine i have yet to have a problem with any devices. Also with your shade choice, if you have tan or a light interior your tint will took lighter than it is, also it will depend on the color of the car, if your not really worried about the police/law in your state i would go a darker shade to make up for the interior color.

so i got my tints done last week with 3m 20% and the rear top part of the windshield (where the thicker dot matrix is at) doesn't seem to stick and adhere to the window well. I understand the cold weather and all and it hasn't fully dried, but have any of you guys have had this problem when you got the tints installed?
He advised me to come in 1 week later from today (it's been 1 week already) and if it doesn't stick by then, he said putting a vinyl around that area. what's your thought flyer as your an installer and see that you did your sts.
