My CCW SP18's in a 19" staggered set up will be shipped by tomorrow. I will be running 19x9.5 up front and 19x11 on the rear. I plan to run Nitto Invo's with a 275/35/19 front tire and a 305/30/19 rear tire.

What is the widest tire someone has mounted on the front of their CTS-V? Does anyone see a problem with the width of the front tires?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Others here are running 285's on the front for sure, not about 295's.

I remember a long time ago that someone had done a fit-up of the various front width and noted that either 265 or 275 was the max front width without rubbing the inner fender. This assumes the overall diameter of the tire does not change from stock overal diameter. The front whel DESPERATELY needs a much wider tire than the stock 255 width. That is far too narrow to look good on the wheel. The rear tire is 285, but could stand to be 295. I run 295 on the back of my car and the width seems to be perfect on the stock rear wheel width.

I'll post up one day this weeks with some pics and tire sizes.

Running a square 285/35R19s (i.e. front and rear is possible. However, I would recommend D3 concentric wheel spacers at least on the front to be sure everything clears.

I would personally run the RE-11 tires in 265 35 19 & 305 30 19 with the CCW wheels you ordered. Performance should be better than the Invos and the OD's are equal.

The stock front tire width is perfectly fine...

I have the same tires and sizes as LV_V. They are great.
OP, how did you get 11 in wide wheels to fit in the rear? What offset do you have?

In another thread, a guy put 285/35-19's Invo's on his front (old rear) OEM 9.5" rim, and 325/30-19's Invo's on his widened OEM 11" (old front) rear rim.

I have the widened (old front) rear rim. At 19x11 it needed a tiny bit of custom love to fit a 305/30/19 on in there. I'd be amazed if someone managed to get a 325 to fit. My stock rear rims and tires fit perfectly with D3's spacers.

That was a great read. We did have to clearance the control arm ever so slightly in the rears but once that was done, virtually no issues. I might try the slightly wider tire next go around to see if it will clear with my set up, but methinks it just wont. The fronts were totally bolt and go.

I have to respectfully disagree with your comment. The stock tire is too narrow for the width of the rim. This picture shows that the tread width is narrower than the wheel. This is a terrible look and shows that the front tires needed to grow from the stock 255 wide to AT LEAST 275 wide if at all possible. Whoever made these sizes in GM did an awful job.

You keep saying that but its close enough to the sedan rear wheel/rear tire ratio. You have always talked about how you don't like the look of the PS2. But the sidewalls were designed to bow like they do and look like they do.

Then you say the all-season Bridgestone RE-970 are as good, or better, in the dry when Tire Rack comparison tests say they aren't quite as good in the dry as the Pilot Sport all-seasons, nevermind how they would compare to the PS2s.

So while I have no doubt your opinion is genuine, its also tainted by hatred, based on looks, of the PS2. It's biased and inaccurate.

BI2011ESV,

Did you do the same set up as Rule12b?

BI2011ESV,
What wheels are those? Are you lowered? Do you have any rubbing issues?

Thanks!

You should be able to run those widths no matter the wheel diameter...

Nice wheels! I'm looking for a new set up on my 2011 sedan. Did you go forged? Custom back spacing? Looking for a concave look.
