This is my favorite Cadillac site; I favor my Fleetwood over my Seville, and this site has a lot of Fleetwood talk.

However, it has gotten so much slower to load pages compared to other Cad sites. I imagine that is because of the many ads posted around the edges of the page, plus I have a dial up connection.

I have purchased merchandise from at least 3 of these guys; I have a small business myself, so I understand the need for ads, but...is there any way I can bypass these ads at least some of the time for the sake of loading time?

The ads are out of control on here. They could cut them down by half and would be doing the advertisers and the users a favor. It's just too much.

Way to many unnecessary pictures as well!
If they were to at least ban some of these dumb pictures it would be faster.

Awaiting a new modum from the cable company as it's showing some errors.

Since I got the cable internet it's like night and day. 86 that dial-up, it's worth every cent.

Yes, long live cable. I converted last summer form dialup, but I can still remember the s....l......o.....w Internet browsing.

Just an FYI. The images on the sides are cached on your hard drive - so they only take time to load the first time you see them. After that, your computer just pulls them from your hard drive.. And, this Cadillac site gets far, far, far more traffic than any other Cadillac site online. That's the main reason for the slow speed. However, there was one skyscraper ad which took particularly long to load - and I've eliminated it. Pages should load faster now. Still, we've got a ton of traffic here...

i've noticed it being slow, but i'm always on a t1 or dsl. so it's not a big deal. but i can only imagine what it would be like on dial-up.

overall, i think it's ok. and at least sal takes the time to actually listen to us and try his best to help us.

The site didn't have that problem when new, with fewer members. It's a natural progression for a forum to grow, but the growth here has been explosive! Instead of complaining, perhaps more people should consider becomming supporting members to keep it running right?

I didn't want to cause a commotion by mentioning this, but I'm glad I did, since it's now easier to load, it seems. Sal does take care of us. Thanks for the best Cad site, Sal!

I can not even imagine what it would be with dialup. I have cable. But even at dialup the information on this site is invaluable and worth waiting for. Keep up the great work Sal.

the whole reason why i tried this browser was because of this site... i have dialup @ work and on IExplorer, shit was horrible, now it loads up fine.

I have to say, I don't browse the internet with Explorer anymore either. Firefox IS much faster... Otherwise, I didn't remove just one ad - I moved an entire netword of ads (the old skyscrapers). The one we have now is faster - and or course, pays less...

Shouldnt have to change browsers just to view a site better :rolleyes: ... IMHO the only thing that seems cached (and it always shows up very quickly) is the banner above that has the Cadillac owners name and the 2k5 STS there. The ads dont look like they should be any trouble at all... just .gif images. Just sometimes, when its really bogged..ill have to refresh the page for it to finally load without waiting a long time. I blame all the guests i see on the Who's Online menue lol. :shhh:

Comcast Cable Internet here at home and T1 at work. Both have the same attitude.

Maybe Florida is slower than here in San Diego, I have SBC Yahoo DSL and have no problems with the website. The sidebar ADS act up weird for a second sometimes, but otherwise this runs okay!! Glad to know COMCAST hasn't changed much since I lived down south :nyanya:
I also use Firefox now...checking it out till I'm sure it is okay.

I love firefox, the only thing i hate is if you scroll down too fast with the wheel it automatically takes you to the bottom of the page. I have 0 loading problems.

I'm able to adjust the speed of the wheel on my new computer, also the pointer speed, etc.

i've noticed this site loads differently with firefox, so i still use IE for this site.
