Are you changing them on the STS or the Escalade ?
If on the STS, then the below is correct. V6 or V8 ?The Below is for V8.
WHOA ! You DO NOT remove the intake manifold to change plugs, there are covers on each of the Valve covers,
under that are the Coil on plug stuff, and that is where your plugs are !
Good Luck, Have FUN,Now that you have enough info to do it right.

I don't know why you would need to remove the intake manifold for the plugs. The plastic cover on the engine pops right off. Maybe this isn't a task you should be doing....

Thanks guys! I have a V6 STS and you have to lift the manifold to get to the other 3 spark plugs. Took me about 1 1/2 hour not as bad as I thought.

Truth is stranger than fiction deparrtment:

Bad: You have to remove intake mainfold to change spark plugs (V6 STS).

Worse: You have to remove intake manifold to remove the thermostat (V6 STS).

Worst: On the Allante you had to remove THE ENGINE to change the spark plugs.
