: How do you reset Starting Disabled Thieft Problem

I disconnected the battery because I let the car sit for a few weeks, (done this many times). However this time when I hooked the battery back up, I recieved a thieft warrning and the car will not start (starting Disabled Thieft Problem)....does anyone know a way to reset this?

Sorry should have mentioned....it is a 2005 3.6L STS

I thought a successful lock/unlock sequence with the key fob would reset this type of problem.

No luck with this....locks/unlocks, but doesnt reset

I had the same problem this summer. It turned out that it was caused by a week battery that would not turn the starter over.

Thanks Edsandra, I am hoping to get a new battery tomorrow (difficult to find in Europe)...hope it works for me as well

Ditto. This happened to me but once I charged the battery it cleared. My battery was on the way out but a brief charge allowed me to get it in for a new one. I would have simply changed it myself except it was under warranty.
