Drove from LA to Southern Utah with wife and daughters in my Coupe. Told them to pack light which they did. Averaged 17.5 mpg with cruising 5-10 mph above speed limit and stayed off cruise control.

Seats are fantastic and I'm a big guy - 6'3" 270. I never got tired or sore.

The Virgin River gorge in AZ was a great test for the car where i probably pushed the car as much as I've pushed it. Its 20+ miles on a 2 lanes (each side) curvy mountain pass with lots of blind corners. Hair raising and white knuckle driving but I was confident.

Got lots of thumbs up in the little town who never see these cars.

I love the exhaust note inside the cabin. I didn't listen to the radio at all and the girls slept the whole time. The ergonomics of the radio, heating, etc were great. My 14 and 24 year old daughters seemed to be comfy in the back. This is much more comfortable than my Grand Cherokee for long trips.

This is Snows Canyon Utah

The V looks great. Sounds like a great driving trip. The furthest I've driven my current V so far is about 100 miles round trip. Loved it and I'm sure I would be comfortable on longer trips. Do you have recaros?

Got any pics of your chevelle?

Took a similiar trip this summer from LA to Vegas to Bryce Canyon to North Rim of Grand Canyon to Vegas to La Quinta and back to LA. Loaded up wife, daughter, and they did not pack light, but we got everything in the trunk. Car was fantastic and averaged about 18.0 mpg over entire trip of 1,900 miles. Great roads from Vegas to Bryce by way of Zion National Park and North Rim. Most desolate roads were from Vegas to La Quinta where it was 2 lanes and was continually passing trucks. My 10 year old would annouce at the conclusion of each pass "You went 113 (or whatever speed attained that was the highest) on that one".

350. My daughter may inherit this soon so it's reliable. Aluminum radiator with twin spal electric fans, mid length headers, Bassani catback. I get a lot of flack from the purists.
