Just got off the phone with the dealership, there's acutally a new TSB on diff whine while coasting from aprox 60-40 down to 20 or so. He detailed a procedure that involves removing a bracket from the assembly and shaving material off to eliminate the noise. So if you've got a good service tech, there's now a fix for it.

I know some people will probally want the acutal TSB number; I'll try to get that for us when I get at the place around 5 or so.

Glad I got GM to replace my entire diff, but let's hope the noise doesn't develop on the new diff as well. GM really should make it highly recommended to flush out the diff and fill it with fresh gear oil at no more than the first 500 miles to avoid this issue altogether.

lets hope they haven't done what the bulletin they gave me instructs them to do; cut into the center driveshaft support .

I called them today to ask them to double check the TSB. I was informed that he would take it up with the tech (it's their senior tech) but that they usually run the bulletin search via VIN and sometimes all applicable vehicles are not listed on the TSB .

This is what I've got with my car, so I'll watch this thread with interest. I haven't brought mine to the dealer yet since it's not affecting the performance. Mostly just annoying.
