: 145K mile escalade - anything to watch out for?

I looked at 2000 escalade yesterday with 145K miles. It was owned by a realator who put freeway miles on it.

Very nice truck, great body and interior.

The dealership has deducted the price 5K because of the mileage. They are asking 15K for the truck.

Has anyone seen a high mileage truck like this? What issues should I be thinking about? Is the drivetrain designed to last 200K or should I be looking at motor/trans work in the near future?

Thanks,
Dustin

Hey. Just for reference i got 127k on my 99 lade. It runs like a champ. I Recieved it at around 90k, and I dont notice anythign different. They usually have service around 130k for like a 99 point inspection. If your still skeptical you should get a carfax report.

They won't warranty any car over 100,000 miles. 145K is a lot of miles.

And someone correct me if Im wrong but I don't think you can finance a vehicle over 100,000 miles either. So unless your paying cash (which if you have 15K cash, put it towards a different one with low miles and have a little car payment) your SOL.

Check on Ebay. Lower mileage 2000 Lades come a dime a dozen there for around that price. Here is one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4500531198&category=6148
Use that as a reference for about what you can get for under 17k. I wouldnt personally pay 15k for a truck that has 145 thousand miles on it.

i'd look around for a lower mileage one. i got my 99 with 89K miles for $17500.

edit: here's a 99 with 86K miles for $16500

That's to many miles to deal with. Buy something with at least half the milage. With that much milage you will be fixing things that you would normaly never worry about breaking like front end, rear end etc.

I would think you can get the truck for less, offer them 12,500

You can do better. I got my 2000 pimped out (22's Divin's) perfect condition. 34,000 miles. Still under factory warranty. Onstar still included. I bought directly from Caddy dealer. So any problem's I can Bitch directly. I also bought extended waranty for peace of mine. With tax and licence and extended warranty it came out to $28,000. Good Luck it's a great truck ;)
Peace :D

Remember if it sounds to good it usually is. Shop around. Check out the Caddy dealers first. Happy shopping :)
