My car was rearended on 11/8. Car has been in the shop since 11/10, waiting for right rear quarter. I don't understand how a part for a brand new $52,000, car can be on backorder for so long, and noone seems to care. I'm Paying out of pocket for rental now that insurance coverage has ended. Called CCC and can not get any info and rep will not return my calls. Paying $34.00 per day to drive a mazda 3. This comes out to twice what I'm paying monthly for a CTS that I can' t drive. I'm really dissapointed in Cadillac. I've owned GM cars my enrire life (my uncle was a GM dealer for 20 years). This is my first Cadillac, and I thought I was stepping up to the level of service that other luxury car owners recieve. Well atleast I think I'm paying for it. I only buy American cars and motorcycles, but I think I'm done with GM after this. I've never recieved such bad customer service. My neighbor had a similar issue with his wife's BMW, and they bent over backwards to supply her with a loaner and service to and from the pickup. Why do we have to buy foreign for good service?

I looked up your case number and I forwarded a message to your district specialist letting them know that you were trying to get a hold of them. Let me know how it goes.

It all depends on your dealer. Sounds like you should have gone to a different one. As for buying foreign, go to ANY auto forum, and you will find stories just like yours. It's not limited to GM.

As for the backorder, you have to consider the tough times GM has been having. It's not surprising they don't have spare fenders and body parts in warehouses. It sucks that this is happening, but you can't really blame GM for a collision that happened to you.

FWIW, were it me, I would have demanded they put the car together minus the fender, and I would drive it that way until the fender becomes available.
