I am looking to put some new wheels on my '07 EXT and had a few questions. Will I need to upgrade brakes with 24's? I used to have a 2004 EXT and a lot of people said once you go bigger than 22's, you need to upgrade brakes...is this the same for the newer trucks? I tow a 5,000 lb. boat once in a while as well. Lastly, what size of tires is everyone going with? Should I go with 305/35/24 or 305/40/24? Thanks in advance for any help!

Not only bigger brakes but your gas mileage will drop. One of the guys on here went to 24's and said he lost 1 to 1 1/2 mpg!

As said you will want big brakes if you tow and really want to stop. :)

I think if you tow it's something you should definitely look into. I run 24's with OEM breaks with no issues but I also never tow anything. I'm upgrading brake rotors and pads next summer, simply 'casue the OEM rotors aren't the best. You could do the same without spending a crazy amount of money or if you got $$ get a big brake kit.

Cheers!
