: HELP! Burned Clutch-Aftermarket?

12-14-11, 01:17 PM

I need some advice. I let a friend (LARGE customer) drive my '09 V and he somehow destroyed the clutch. I think he was taking off in 3rd gear thinking it was 1st.

Anyways, I need a new clutch. Should I replace it with GM parts or is there some aftermarket brand you have had good luck with? Should I replace the throwout bearing as well? Any other parts to replace? What should my dealer charge me? I have a lift in my garage, should I do it myself?

PS. Advice that includes "Don't let your idiot friends drive your V" will be shredded! :tisk:

Thanks in advance!:worship:

I would have your local dealer take a look at it especially since it is still in warranty, it may be covered, depending on what the dealer finds out. Keep us updated.
