Hey Guys and Gals -

I just bought a 2007 Escalade EXT - 77k miles - OEM 22" wheels - seems to be a fairly standard setup.

After driving a bunch this past weekend, I started noticing a hollow sounding click or rattle in the right front. Happens at very low speeds - 20mph or less. After researching on here and finding several similar posts, I inspected the front shocks and noticed the noise coming from the right front shock. If I bounce on the right running board, it replicates the sound.

I then read some more and noticed most people recommend Arnott as a replacement shock setup. Before I move forward, I want to double check.

I've seen posts referring to front shocks, and most say buy this:

http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_CADILLAC_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid6_pid150_gid 634.html

I've also seen posts referring to front struts, and most suggest buying from G&R on eBay - like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-08-09-CADILLAC-ESCALADE-STRUT-FRONT-ORANGE-AIR-RIDE-SYSTEM-/140652175363?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2007%7CModel%3AEscalade%7CSubmodel%3AE XT&vxp=mtr&hash=item20bf85e003#ht_970wt_1045

Mine look like the second link - orange in color. It makes me think I don't fully understand the difference between what Arnott is offering (which seems to have a bypass sensor of sorts) and what G&R is selling.

I've read that the Arnott stuff should be installed by a shop. What about the G&R option - since it appears the spring is already in place on that one. Is that an install a handy car guy could handle?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Arnotts are not OEM shocks and do not have the electric valving so they use a bypass sensor to trick the computer.

The G&R shocks are new OEM just like yours came with new.
