: XM antenna looks bad

Gave the V a good wash and wax this weekend. I sometimes get obsessed with a small detail and that small detail is the XM antenna. It looks bad. It looks old. I want to spray paint it gloss black but before I do I wanted to see if anyone else did it and how it looked. I don't use the XM and I have no plans to sell my car.

Whatever you do, do not get rid of it. '04s need to stay authentic.

forget spray painting it... anyone remove it altogether? Wondering how big a hole there'd be to plug

I think it is the GPS antenna for OnStar and the nav system, in addition to the XM antenna. Actually, I think early (or all?) '04s had two antennas, so maybe what you are talking about isn't what I'm thinking of... But the extra tall sharkfin one on the later cars does look a bit goofy, it'd be nice if they were body colored.

I think I read that little one in back is onstar. On top is for XM. Regular radio and navigation up front somewhere.

Yeah, I want to keep it but it just looks old. I don't think the little fin looks bad but what can I do to make it look new or at least newer?

Maybe some Back to Black plastic trim stuffs?

Hit it with some Vinylex. That should restore the finish.

There is no hole.

Vinylex worked really well. Thanks.
