: Power retractable running boards.

Quick question do the power running boards have any sort of adjustment when it comes to how close they rest against the body when retracted? I've noticed some escalades have less of a gap compared to mine and I think it looks better.

Hello 2007XTSDub,
I will do some research as well, but keep us updated as to what the dealer finds out for you.

None of the brackets or frame have any adjustment. Only the front to rear position of the board can be changed. I know this because I had the complete board and frame and brackets torn down to the motor etc., and then reinstalled everything.

Is it an easy adjustment front/rear as I would like to move back a bit so I don't rub on my 24" tires

Yes.

Mine are right up against the body of the truck. No gap. But I have turned mine off because even after warranty repair work they work when they want to. I figure they can't get any worse if I don't use them.

I wonder why some escalades sit like that with less gap than others :/

My guess is lack of quality control! The mounting holes for the boards are not all in the same spot for all Escalades. Anyone else want to post pics?

I was at the mall today and someone had an escalade that was not a platinum. But, it had power running boards. I went out of my way to walk next to it so I could get a look and there is a gap. However the person may have put them on as aftermarket or may have been dealer installed. Because like I said it was not a platinum, didn't have the wheels and it didn't have LED's.

Same gap i have on mine. I have seen others that are nice and tight up to the body. Looks much better IMO.

My three all look like the Murphy mans truck:) Seriously does that truck leave the garage, it's always clean. :)

When I bought the Denali, I was looking at an LTZ with power running boards. From what I've herd they have alot of problems.

Never wanted them because of all the time we spend in upstate NY and the snow and ice has killed several of my friends Lincoln power running boards, having said that if you keep them turned off in those conditions, and keep them clean and lubed they seem to work well

They come on more then just the Platinum's, mine isn't a Platinum and came with factory power boards.

Same here as 'Dragtruck'. Mine is a 2009 and has factory power running boards. I purchased mine brand new with this option. I have no issues with my power boards and mine do have this "gap" as well. Not concerned about it at all.

Does not have to be Platinum. For example EXT's have them and they don't make Platinum EXT's. Also Platinums did not start until 2008 but 2007 trucks could have them.

Just curious if you cut the board to fit the flap or only slid it to the back.

The flaps fit if you move the PRB's all the way back in the adjustment

All the same no adjustments.. dif colors look tighter.. Thats why u sould have bought a black one if you wanted it tight..

Hah, Hahhh! Yeah, my EXT is black and they do "look" tighter, but have the same gaps as seen on Murph's Escalade. I did adjust them towards the back when I installed the front mud flaps, but like other's have said....there is no adjustment except forwards or backwards.
