check for a set screw possibly. Also could it be screwed on?

How'd you get it on there? Normally, you just put it in reverse and pull it up and out (preferably from passenger side)
Is it screw on?

ive looked all over this thing for one, didnt see anything. I dont wanna have to take a pair of channel locks to this thing but i will if i have to.

It came on the car so i dont really know. I just got a new knob that is threaded so i may just cut the thing off and weld on the stud that i need for my new knob. I really dont want to cut it off because from what i understand, these knobs are not made anymore and im sure another member would like it.

from what it looks like the very bottom is knurled? if it is I bet it spins. maybe try spinning the threaded part? maybe some kind of compression fitting?

I have the one with rubber ring around it, there is a set screw in that groove.

Looks like a trailer hitch

Agreed on the trailer hitch. Although it feels great in the hand, and makes for some nice shifting but doesnt lend any help to the looks of the interior LOL
