: Source for Nav disc?

I've seen here, and on a couple other sites that some people have sources for copies of the nav disc. I've noticed the OEM disc is about $200, and considering these discs seem to be a bit finicky, I am a bit reluctant to spend that kind of money on something like that.

My nav system plays DVD's fine, but it will not load the nav disc, so I assume the nav disc is to blame.

What's the best source for these right now? I'm not in a huge hurry, as I don't really need the nav system that bad but I'd like for it to work.

I've seen copies of navteq 6.9 going on Craigslist for $40 or so.

COPIES are copyright infringement ... discussions concerning which are a 'no-no' here according to the :rules:

I bought a Nissan 2007 Nav disk for Europe off of eBay a few weeks ago...still waiting for it to show up. We'll see if it works...

if you have a 2007 (and maybe even with a 2006 but less likely) you can try and get a free update

see this thread for more info (it's about a year old and 166 posts long, but some people are still able to capitalize on that old promotion)

I have the firmware update for the nav system and I read that version 6.9 is the latest one that will work. Is that true? I'm seeing a lot of version 7.x but not many 6.9

7.x is for newer infiniti/nissan vehicles. navteq 6.9 is the latest for your V.

I have a 2007 V. The NAV/radio was replaced around December 09, under warranty. I have an OEM version 6 NAV disk that used to work properly; now I get "disk error" messages. The disk looks perfect, no scratches, rainbows, or damaged spots. Tried a version 6.5 disk another V owner had, I get "disk not accepted" errors.

Soflarick,
It worked after you got it replaced, up until now? I would take the vehicle to your local dealership. They will be able to diagnose/reapir the issue for you. Let us know what you find out.

Yes, the original disk worked properly when the system was replaced. The disk started giving me problems a few months ago, then finally stopped working in the DVD player altogether.

i wonder if the nav radio dvd slot has gone bad... if the disc looks fine it's probably not the problem ...

how long ago did the nav radio get replaced ?? if it's been less than 12 months then it's under the parts warranty

In my case, it almost has to be the disc because even though the disc looks fine, it gives me a "disc error" message and it plays DVDs fine.

in your casee you might want to try calling up the nav disc center
i've heard that sometimes they will send you a new disc in cases like that

it's worth a try at least

I sent them an email. If I don't get a call or email by the end of the day I'll give them a call.

So how old is the last updated disk and what is the version?

I think navteq 6.9 came out in Nov 2010 timeframe and it contains the latest 2010-2011 maps for our car. I'm not sure about the equivalent GM disc.
