: Shelby 1 Olds Supercharged Aurora - How About LS9 or LSA?

The Supercharged Aurora was mentioned on here and I see that it was used
in the Shelby 1 with only 320 HP:

Edit: Just remembered the STS-V supercharged Northstar which was 460 HP
which would probably drop right into the Shelby 1.

I wonder if the LSA or LS9 would have fit in the Shelby and how
much heavier is it than the Aurora? Anybody?

I was more familiar with the small and big blocks from the 60s
and 70s and my impression of the modern LS blocks is that
they are all about the same size externally - is that right?

The Aurora is a transverse FWD and the STS-V SC is a north/south RWD. The differences are vast.

I'm talking about a motor swap, would the motor mounts
and bell housing match up? I'm not talking about putting
it in an Aurora, but rather a Shelby 1.
