: squeaking steering

I have a 2002 EXT that has had a squeaking noise present when I turn corners ever since I took delivery. It was happening when I turned either direction. I complained about it to a service technician when I took it in for the tailgate recall and he submitted a request to "Cadstar" who advise him to order a new power steering booster line. The steering feels a little tighter, but it still squeaks, especially when applying the brakes and making a tight turn to the left. I would say that it is a little worse when turning to the left than before the new line was installed and better when turning to the right side. I have not taken it back in yet, as I feel that they're going to tell me that they have no more options to explore to fix the issue. They also managed to spill a good quantity of power steering fluid in the engine bay and left the cover off the master cylinder area! Any suggestions?

JEDRCT it could be the steering column inter shaft.
Right now GM is having a tough time getting those out to
the dealers, as they are on a national backorder, but that's a start.

By the way, I don't know if they affect the Escalades like they do the Tahoes and other SUV's
