I put in a cai. Not a huge performance increase, but it helps. And it really barks now!

Unfortunately the turbo was not offered here in the middle east. They offer a base model and full option model only both with the 3.0 V6. I purchased the full option which appears to be equivalent to the Premium in US.

frey, there has been a lot of discussion about the 3.0 power issue on this board but not many options for improvement. I know money doesn't grow on trees but if you think you're going be unhappy every time you drive the SRX, consider trading up to a 2012 with the 3.6. Since yours is a 2011 hopefully you won't get hurt too bad.

Life is too short to be unhappy.

There is probably only 3 things you can do to help performance.
Cold Air Intake
Cat back muffler system
Gear ratio change. See if you can find a 3.70 gear set to replace your 3.39. It will give you about 10% more tq.(mechanically)
Gas mileage may drop a mpg or so.

There is a possibilty of also having a tune done, but there are only a couple of guys in the States that have figured it out.

If you add up everything I posted here it would be cheaper to trade or sell the car outright and get a 2012 with the 3.6L.

Thanks for your responses. I am going to try the Airaid CAI and Trifecta Tune to start with. I am not concerned about mileage (Gas is about $0.60 gallon here) just want a little more power.

I haven't been able to find a cat back exhaust system. Is that something that would need to be custom fabricated? The usuals like Corsa and Borla don't appear to offer them yet.

They are a tuner in Seattle. They do mail order tunes also. They have tuned the SRX, CTS, Camaro, others.

Just in case anybody is interested I found B & B cat back exhaust for the 3.0 V6 thru NOPI.com.

Awaiting all the mason jars!!

...yea the turbo is great if its a 2011, my 2010 turbo lags and drives like @ss. But it's okay according to GM as they say I have the latest software applicable towards my VIN

I went to trifecta's web site and asked for info but have not heard back from Vince yet. Has anyone heard how the chip advertised on this forum works on the 3.0? It says it was $359 but is now $69 and guarantees 70 hp and 4 mpg improvement. No mention if it voids the warranty or not.

Unlike most other performance parts, any chip or tune changing the factory fuel management settings will void the warranty. No if's, and's or but's.

I like the idea of the custom tuner. I wonder if anyone has seen actual results with a 3.0L SRX?

If you are talking about the chip advertisement up at the top of the forum, DO NOT BUY! That is a google network ad we have no control over. Those chips are scams. I wouldn't be surprised if installing it renders your car impotent.

See my comment on the newbie chip thread about are the chips any good. I got a response from a re-programmer along with a dyno printout of OEM vs his program.
