From CTIA in San Diego today:

"GM's Cadillac announced a new in-vehicle connected driving system that will leverage a driver's mobile phone to provide a range of services, including hands-free calling and streaming music services."

"The new system, dubbed CUE (Cadillac User Experience), offers a variety of functions including a navigation system and a voice-recognition system. And instead of installing a wireless module to handle cellular requests, CUE instead connects to a user's mobile phone via Bluetooth or a wire and piggybacks on that connection for services including hands-free calling and streaming music and radio through CUE app partners Pandora and Stitcher."

"Cadillac plans to begin selling its first CUE-capable car next year, and Bly said that by 2013 all of the company's cars would feature CUE services."

This looks pretty amazing. If it works as well as it looks, then I think it would top anything BMW, MB and Audi are putting out.

Looks really nice. Lets see if it goes into production.

It's about time. Anything beats the pile of sh!t the've been dumping in their cars. Hopefully they do someting about the sound system as well.

Here's the article from Left Lane about it...

It's about time Caddy had a system that compared to cars costing much less.

10-13-11, 05:12 PM
You mean like the Ford OutofTouch?

10-13-11, 07:21 PM
so the whole system makes what the current CTS has look like some dollar-tree POS.. Nice, that's the way they've got to be in order to bring down the big 4. More so with Ford saying they're shoving a billion into Lincoln and everyone and their korean brother making luxury cars these days.

) Linux operating system: “Open” software platform and ARM 11 3-core processor, each operating at 400 million of instructions (mips) per second. This hardware setup offers 3.5 times more processing power than current infotainment systems, and allow developers to write applications to CUE that be downloaded by consumers.

I cant wait to get my hands on this one and find me some 0day. Hope they didnt do something stupid and throw it on any important communication busses...
