I'm considering buying this one at an Acura Dealer in Ohio - I want a stock unit - Dealer says veh. is sold as is... Does this look like it's modded?

Thanks!81419

that's not a stock intake. Looks like a D3 intake.

It that a good or bad thing?

There is nothing wrong with having an intake on there but if they are saying sold as is doesn't that mean no warranty? An intake won't void warranty but if there are any other mods and a tuned pcm, your warranty could be out the door. I'd check in to that heavily.

If you want a stock vehicle, I'd have it checked by a caddy dealership and have them check the ecm for tunes or history of tunes.

It think it would be wise to find one that's less likely to have been run hard for it's first year...

it's a V it's safe to assume that at one point in time it was driven hard. The only way around that is new off the lot. Other than that like it was said already, an intake is not bad at all, atleast you dont have to buy one now. just get that tuned checked out, other than that you will be good.

That looks like the Lingenfelter intake tube I have on a stock air box. As for being driven hard, these cars are beasts. Like my '04 V, I can track, drag race, autocross and drive the thing hard and then drive it home in comfort. The components are made to take abuse and they do it well. I wouldn't worry...

All these cars were bought to mash the pedal now and then. I would go by mileage and try buy one that will give you at least a 90 day warranty. AS IS, is not a good thing on these cars. Cecil.............

Pay the freight for a thorough "physical" by a mechanic you pay & trust.

If the selling dealer does not want to get it to a shop for inspection, run.

Check the VIN to see if it's really "as is" since it could have a warranty block. No warranty block and you'll be good.

Guys, I think the OP was saying the dealer was selling the car as is in the manner they're not changing any mods back to stock, not no warranty...

This unit is priced at $58K w/12K miles... I think I'm going to pass and find one that was driven to Church on Sunday for less miles and less mystery.

Dear lord, you would have gotten raped on that deal. If that was an '09, it should be $10K less...

my 11 black diamond sedan with a 72 sticker was 64 and change brand new with 0% from the dealer in late august.....I'd spend the few bucks extra for a new car, hell I got 0 for 60 as well, I bet the 0% would almost balance out the price difference vs. used car rates if you're financing.

I would think you could have a Cadillac dealer check the vin and tell you if there are any warranty issues....the warranty comes from GM....not a dealer. If it has less than 50K miles it should be covered.....
