View Full Version : Wider Tires -> Problems ?

Hi Community,

Hope not to annoying you guys with another winter tire tread, but I do only get
the Pirelli Sotto's in 255/45/19 and 285/40/19. They are in Europe only
in theses sizes available.
The diameter will grow 1 inch (2.5 cm) Front, and 1.15" (2.9 cm) Rear, than original.
The tires will be mounted on original CTS-V rims.

Any hesitations about the wider tires scratching the body ? :ill:

Thanks for you replies,

Regards, Caol

These tires that you spec'ed will not be any wider than stock, but you will have 1" more in overall diameter. This will not cause problems. For me, I am going with a Bridgestone All Season tire that is stock width in front and 1 width wider in the back. The overall diameter of these is 1" less than factory sizing. These will be perfect for me in driving the car year round in Ohio.

I wouldn't anticipate them scratching the body--many of us lower our cars by half an inch (your increase in radius) or more--however, I would be concerned with rubbing the front inner fenderwells at full steering lock.
