The rear window in your Brougham is the same size as the window used in the Sedan de Ville, so if you want to do that conversion, you really just need to get the chrome window trim.

while the rear window is the same size, the window itself on the vinyl roof cars has a black paint applied to it by GM that cant be removed. the rear defroster (in the glass) is also sized for the exposed part of the window. the window will work if the vinyl top is removed, but it will look awful and it will be very obvious that the car came with a vinyl roof.

Have the top off and glass out already . Removed all the trim mounting tabs from the body and have it almost all primed now . The interior trim and glass I can get from any deville and they are easy to find in junkyard but they all have tops on them so I cant find the chrome trim for the outside . I have been looking on internet and junkyards for avout 3 years now . Just about to pick the project back up as soon as get the car back out of sorage and to my house . Thanks for the pics I like these cars in deville trim better I think .

You put a 500 in your brougham ?? Did you do carb or fuel injection . Thats the next step for me to decide what engine to use . Did you have 307 or 350?

There's another whole build thread on csbuckn's 500. It's truly badass.

My swap included an 870cfm carb and was put in place of a TBI 350. Finally got a little money to start putting it back together.

The Coupe top looks like a G-body top, liking the Sedan hardtop. So the interior can be snatched from any Deville of these years with hard or soft top?

Yah I spent some time checkingg them out in the scrapyard and all the deville's interior trim is just smaller than fleetwoods or broughams thicker trim . Looks like it will just go right in along with the glass and chrome if I can find it . ( I'm going to check out the 500 thread too sounds like fun I kinda ruled out the 500 for mine due to emmisions in denver I dont think I could make it pass )

if your yard has any 1980-1985 (I think that was the last year for rwd) buick electra or oldsmobile 98s, the rear glass is the same as the glass found on your cadillac. might be able to find the trim for the window too. those cars rode on the same frame and had the same roofline as the rwd devilles and fwb's.

I just LOVE the Sedan deVille with no vinyl top. Super clean looking car.

I can imagine they are getting harder to find since more and more of them are getting squashed or ground up.

Good luck finding the trim. :)

Thanks for the tip Ive seens those around but didnt know it was the same glass .I hope thats easier to find either way thanks for the info . Car should look pretty unique. When I get car back home I'll post some pics of the primered body . Removed alot of the trim and the top of course and will have 90-92 headlights with the 80-89 bumper . I'm thinking white or black . Cant wait to get it done .

Interesting combo on the front clip. Post what you're looking for on layitlow.com in the parts section. I see the trim for sale all the time over there. The is a thread over there for 80-92 rwd caddies, its over 400 pages long.
