Hi Guys, new to forum. I have a 2002 Deville 4.6L. While replacing the valve cover gaskets I noticed that the timing chain on the pass. side back towards firewall seems loose. it was drooping with quite a bit of slack. Is this normal or do I have a problem. I realIy do not here anything out of the ordinary while engine is running. Oh yea, one other thing. After the car is turned off their seems to be a rush of air somewhere by the intake. Only does it when it is cold. if so how do I fix it? Thanks.

Welcome Aboard !!!.................:welcome:

The timing chains have hydraulic self-adjusting tensioners. There might be a little slack with the engine off but not much: The tensioners ratchet out as the chains break in and the nylon slippers and shoes wear.

You must have had a bad cam cover leak to go through that drill............
