But she gets decent mileage and causes me minimal headaches!

This is what I'm driving for the time being... My wife's hand me down x5, after a few touches to give it a little masculinity.

Just thought I'd share...

That's the nicest hand me down I've ever seen. Like the black on black.

Always liked those. Are you in Orlando by chance? Saw one just like this last week near my house.

Agreed... if there's anything BMW gets right with the X5. it's the looks. Hands down my favorite looking SUV, except maybe an SRT-8 jeep

2009, 25,000 miles, woman driver (which means I assure you it has never slowed for potholes, railroad tracks or anything else for that matter) and it doesnt have a single squeak or creek. i took the original tires off the other day to put these on and they still had another 10,000 miles in them.

I have two complaints, but they are by design:

1. the base radio is not great, but can apparently be substantially upgraded by simply replacing the factory speakers.
2. it isnt fast. its HARD pulling out into traffic after going from a V to this... i bet ive nearly been rear-ended a half a dozen times. :)

regarding the SRT8, its on my list. It seems like I'll probably end up with one at some point in the near future... unless i can sell my wife on a GTR... "its all wheel drive AND and automatic!!!?"

Love the X5, looks great, comfortable, rides great, built like a tank and made in the gold old USA.
I'm going to grab a high milage 6 cylinder for a winter car.

this car has made me really consider an x5M. thats a dumb car by design, but if this car had 500hp, i cant help but think id never want another car. the x5 has never let me down and never had a problem. i've driven it in 20 inches of snow with street tires and through water that was up to the bumpers and it never missed a beat. i may have to drive a new turbo 8 and see how it runs.

I did the same thing with my wife's TB, I haven't gotten a V yet, but when I purchase in a few months I think that I'll keep it as a winter beater (Michigan weather). She drives a Yukon Denali Hybrid now, but I'll soon be able to outclass that! :lildevil:

When I want to go really fast, I drive my red rocket. Excellent for zipping in and out of the drive thru. Yep, that is a roll cage.
