I own a 1997 sedan deville that just threw the pcm p0741 code recently. I took it to the dealership to have the recall work done and had them run a diagnostic while I was there and they told me that I threw this code. They then told me that it would cost apx. $1800 to fix. I asked them what exactly they were going to do to fix it. They told me that they didn't exactly know until they take the tranny cover off and look inside. But he said they would probably need to replace the solenoid, torque convertor, and a couple of other things. I did a little research on this site about this issue and saw that I should test the solenoid on the freeway to see if it is engaging. Well it is engaging just fine. It seems excessive to me to fix all of those things. Does this sound right or am I trippin?
