: the best 5.7 liters 350 ci ?

Hello everybody

I have a big problem with my 1985 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, V8 engine 4100 ht is dying so I have to find a way to change it soon

Browsing the web, I saw a lot of guys who have so changed that infamous original engine with a V8 5.7 liter, 350 ... it with a carburetor.

I found several used engines on the web:

Option 01:
A 5.7-liter v8 efi
who come from a 1976 Cadillac Seville

Option 02:
A 5.7-liter V8 carburetor
who come from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau Coupe

Option 03:
A 5.7-liter V8 nine seen on the Summit website
This GM performance V8 350 195 HP Engine C.I.D base

Could you help me and tell me if these engines are mounted in my 85 Cadillac?
especially if they can adapt to my transmission
and my gearbox THM 325-4L?

Ugh, no responses. I am kind-of looking for similar answers. I am looking for the same answer to my question about my '90 FWB. I know the Olds 350 will bolt to my 200r4 without alterations. It will also go under the intake and quadrajunk carb. Let us know what you end up going with. I'm thinking about buying a rebuild long-block.

If you want it to run then the stock olds 350 will be fine..... If you plan on gobs of power go Chevy, after 75 olds went light weight on the sb and Pontiac castings for the heads good motors, ok for some power mods but not strong enough for big power. Chevy ultimately didn't change a thing! If you can find a Chevy/gmc 350 from a late 70s early 80s truck/van they were mostly 4 bolt mains..... And cheap to build!


And if you plan on going with the Seville engine, get the whole F/I system intake, rails, inj, harness, and puter... There's a guy on oldsmobile forums.com selling an entire olds inj system for $350

The Chevy will NOT bolt up to the transmission! Best bet is a donor Toronado or Riviera. ( same chassis)That way you have the mounts, exhaust and brackets, etc. Any Olds 307,350 to 455 should bolt in.
