probably go to auction. will have buyback on title so the value is always a little lower.

My first "V" was a GM repurchase car - the original California owner didn't like it.
GM fixed the problem and recalled a few other CTS's for the same problem along the way.
It was resold through the GM program car auction and my local dealer got it.
I got it the day they got it and saved about $10K on the deal.
Drove that V1 for 7 years

One minor drawback to owning a car like that is that a CarFax on it will always show that it was a "buyback" or lemon-law car. Didn't bother me nor the guy that bought it from me though.
