I have a spare set of rims from the Seville that look like the one below. I never use them. No shiny chrome finish on them but I am thinking of selling them or recycling them. Are the aluminum?

Aluminum. Machine polished and clearcoated. The wheel size and GM I.D. will be cast on the inside of the spokes

High class alloy wheels are made from magnesium. That's why you occasionally hear them referred to as "mag" wheels. They are very expensive.

I think alloy is a very general term used identify the make up of the metal.

To say "alloy wheels" really means nothing other than its a mix of metals.

Obama has aluminum prices down to about 20 cents a pound
meaning you will get about $4 per wheel scrap value.
