I have a 2006 STS-V and I noticed that when I am driving something under the hood gets loud like its running hard. I can tell its not the engine and the transmission has no problem shifting gears. It's like a deep hummimg that I hear over the engine when I get going. When I stop at a light it stops but when push the gas and get up to about 40mph it starts again. I thinking it might have something to do with the exhaust system. Please help.

It might be the clutch fan making this sound, not to noticeable when cool out?

I live in Texas and it hasn't been cool in a while since we are going through a heatwave. It just started a couple of days ago.

Can you open the hood, And have an assistant, to rev the engine,
and maybe tell where the noise if coming from, OR doesn't it make
noise in fast idle ?
Tires or brakes ?

It also may help to ask this question in the STS-V forum...someone there may have experienced this issue before.

Wheel Bearing? Droning sound? Changes pitches a bit when you get faster? That would be my guess, having gone through a number of them.
