: Need a little advice for 84 Deville radio wiring

Where do the orange/brown wires go i can get it to display clock but can not get the radio on, someone who has put a new radio in please help thanks im going crazy :bighead:

Orange is power, pink is antenna on, browns are speaker.

the12volt.com will have the complete wiring codes.

I was just playing with my 84 last night yellow with black strip is ignition power just fyi

I believe the OP is rferring to the plug with the orange and brown wires on it. orange is constant power (memory) which is necessary. brown is display dimmer, which is not used in aftermarket radios (cap it) and is not necessary for operation for stock radio (it dims the display when you turn on headlamps but other then that it has no purpose)

Wiring:

Constant 12V+ Orange
Switched 12V+ Yellow
Ground Black
Illumination Gray
Dimmer Brown
Antenna Trigger Pink
Antenna Right Front
Front Speakers 4" x 6" Dash
Left Front (+) Tan
Left Front (-) Gray
Right Front (+) Light Green
Right Front (-) Dark Green
Rear Speakers 6" x 9" Rear Deck
Left Rear (+) Brown
Left Rear (-) Yellow
Right Rear (+) Dark Blue
Right Rear (-) Light Blue
