I would like to know if any of you knows about a good and HONEST mechanic in the DC area.
There is some stuff I would like to replace, and I want somebody familiar with our cars.
I had a nasty dealer experience, but I might try another one.
Thanx!
We have a very good dealer near us. We bought our denali there, and the blazer has only seen service once at someplace else. Try oil changes at multiple dealerships. See how they treat you for an oil change, and if you like em, have em do more involved work on your vehicle.
i know a great mechanic who is really honest about 2 hours north of DC. he won't replace something unless he knows that's the problem. he never does things 'just for money'. he treats the cars like they're his own.
he is. my gf's mom took her expedition to have the starter looked at. he couldn't tie the problem down so he said he didn't feel comfortable having her buy a new starter if he wasn't sure it would solve it.
I have a buddy in Wilmington, DE who swears by this guy he calls "One-car Joe"... the guy always has one car at the end of the week he can't get to. He does good honest work, though. One of the guys who does extra work for free without being asked to. I think it's a couple hours from DC, though, depending on what side you're on.
