: To the reader asking about brake dust from Hawk HPS pads...

After two weeks plus of daily driving with my sedan I can say not only do the Hawk HPS pads dust significantly less than OEM (70-75% less), the dust is light grey and not black like OEM. Can still see a bit of shine on the polished wheels when dusted, unlike OEM dust where wheels are black. Very good bite and after about 400 miles on the street I've not heard a peep out of 'em, light or heavier braking. Quite satisfied with them; if anything changes I'll post again.

Is Bite better or worse then stock?

What were the Hawk part #s Did you do all 4 or just fronts?

Looks like Hawk has them listed as HB194F.570 for the rear and HB649F.605 for the front.

Part numbers above are correct and I did front and rear simultaneously. In addition, I replaced stock brake lines with steel braided and high temp fluid so RE: bite these are at least as good and perhaps slightly stronger than OEM.

I went with Hawk ceramics and am delighted at how clean they are. I am annoyed that they squeak slightly.

What's the difference between the HPS and ceramics? Is there a benefit to one of them?

Do the ceramic pads wear the rotors more than the stock pads?

I'm running the HPS also. Absolutely love them. Same braking power (not better) and like the OP said 70-75% less dust. You have to make sure you use the Hawk grease that comes with them and spread it all over the back of the pad or the squeal will pierce your ear drums. I have about 3000 miles on them and have pushed them pretty hard through a windy stretch between Hope, BC and Osoyoos, BC no evidence of fade at any time.

One other thing is that I asked Zeckhausen whether I should do Hawk ceramics or HPS and I was told that ceramics give up too much performance vs. stock

I'd heard the same thing about ceramic vs. HPS, and since I wanted to track now and again I wasn't willing to give up the performance.

Do the ceramic pads wear the rotors more than the stock pads?

Nope, less.

OP, thanks for the update, I was the person requesting the info. from your other thread. Good info again, thanks.
