: Led bulbs
I have a 2008 Escalade ESV I bought LED bulbs to go under the foldaway mirrors and also for the vanity mirrors. I went to the dealership to see if they could install them but they never done any before. Will they even work without causing error codes in my truck.

You can install these bulbs by yourself in a matter of minutes.
They come out very easily.

Do not take to a dealer. The lights under the mirrors pop out very easily. Once u get them out give the wire harness a 1/4 turn and the wire and bulb will come out then just change the bulb. I changed over every bulb in my escalade. Just take your time.

Ya, as stated above, do not go the dealership! I don't know a single thing about cars and was able to it easily. All you need is a flat head screwdriver and about 5 minutes. Vanity mirrors are even easier then the side mirrors. Mine in the side mirrors didn't work at first but wiggled a few fuses and poof it went on. So trust everyone and try this one yourself. Hope that helps a bit!

You're not the only who has wanted to do this, just need to dig a little bit.
Mrholland do the vanity mirror covers just pop off? I'm scared I might break the covers.

Yes the pop out, use a plastic pry tool to eliminate scratches or small screw driver covered with cloth...
Sorry to be a bother but does the center cover pop off or the whole plastic piece come off the visor?

To the best of my knowledge its just the clear lense that needs to be removed to replace the bulb. No bother at all!!!!
Thanks mrholland i wish some of You guys lived in my town Now if I can just figure out the door mirrors I'll be all set.

I think they come off just like the the vanity lenses do. You never know, someone from in here may live around the corner from you..
If my truck was about 10 years old I wouldnt worry about going at it but I dont want to break nothing and be charged an arm and a leg just for a simple little piece of plastic. I don't have the guts to try I'm a little chicken.

Hfresh- it's extremely easy. I did it on my vehicle and it literally pops out when you put the flathead screwdriver to open it. Then you just twist off the factory incandescent bulb and replace with the LED's. Remember the polarity on the LED's might be switched so if it doesn't work, turn the LED light around and plug it in the other way and it should work. GL!

Beyond simple...always remember bulbs do blow and can be changed therefore any cover is created to be removed....the cover just pops out...I don't think if you drive an Escalade you should be worried about the replacement cost of a small plastic light cover, is not a transmission or engine...if your are weary of damage take it to the dealer and have them pop it out for you....good luck
All bulbs in except mirrors. I put them on my vanity mirrors and some on my license plate area that I had for my door mirrors so now I need to order more for my door mirrors.

I went HID in the fog lights. They are pretty nice looking!
Is that a kit? Is it something that I can hook up myself?
08-29-11, 09:26 AM
Yes most HID kits are plug and play. The fogs are very bright...
Where can I get a set at?

Your local sound shop! You need an H10 kit. 4300 matches the factory lights
