: some shots/quick vids of my 2010 v

got the cts-v almost a month ago. traded in my mint '05 GTO for this 2010 thunder gray sedan, with 10k miles. the wheels looked like crap (some oxidation, and actual chips in the finish)--my dealership ended up replacing them with new wheels even though they claimed the previous owner had had them refinished somewhere. the car pulls like mad, obviously much faster than the goat. only thing i miss about the GTO is i could pull 27mpg on the freeway sometimes. not that i care much about gas mileage.

obviously, from the videos below, my kids love the new car. they loved the GTO, but i couldn't fit all 3 in the goat. probably not going to do much of anything with the car, maybe a pulley at most. i have a B&B kit on the way, just couldn't believe how quiet the car is

before anyone decides to flame me, the speed limit is 55mph on this road and its an empty farm road.

i'm assuming you're talking about the lower trim on the front bumper. i'm almost certain its there, just not showing up well in that picture. i'll have to check for sure in the morning

If that is your home garage - I want it! is that a lift? If so, who makes it? Great vids, made me smile.

Good stuff!
I think Cadillac ought to consider using those vids for a CTS-V commercial!

Best regards,

confirmed it this morning, they are gone. i'll have to see what the dealership says. the car came from ohio. i live in a small town--they knew i was looking for a ctsv, and that specific color with those options. they sent a guy to ohio (from wisc) to check the car out. he verified it was in great condition, so i ok'd the purchase. in retrospect, i would have lowballed the seller given the condition of the wheels but i'm not sure i would have caught the bumper trim. either way, i'm going to have to get it replaced.

the lift is a bendpak lift. multiple vendors online sell them, for around $3k with all the ramps, drip trays, casters to move it around, etc. i paid $700 to have it professionally installed. makes oil changes, etc, an absolute breeze. the garage is a heated, 40X60' detached garage, with just about everything i would need/want. only thing missing at this time is my '04 cobra, since its at the shop, but the garage could fit 7 cars with the lift

Kids look like they really like the car. Maybe you can trade car rides for trips to disney and have the car pay for itself.

It's $150+ at the dealer or $100 online, it's a 3 piece kit.

Well, you have a lift to make the installation easier ;)

i'm assuming i can simply contact one of the mentioned dealers in the vendor section, or is there a specific company that sells the kits??

thanks

^^^ For factory bits, lots of folks here sing praises of Luke at Lindsay Cadillac Parts, in the vendor section.

awesome. thanks

here's a few other pics of my garage before i got the lift installed. it has a separate 200amp box, multiple 220 outlets, an office, a compressor/chemical room, plumbed for compressed air, etc. perfect for someone who wants to do tons of car work, which i've pretty much stopped doing now that family/career have taken over.

thanks for all the kind comments guys. dealership wants $160 for the part, and that includes installation. that's probably the route i'll go, as i told them to go ahead and order it. previous owner must have 'curbed' the car repeatedly, and just removed it??

do you have pics of the rims that they 'replaced'? my satin's have started to pit in clusters as well for some reason.

don't have any pics, but they were pitted in the corners of the wheels. other parts were simply 'faded'. honestly, they looked like someone had sandblasted them, and then tried to refinish them. couldn't picture the need for that in a car less than a year old. they replaced them without too much hassle though.
