My dealer is telling me that the Crystal Red Tintcoat is on backorder, so the 2012 Srx with this exterior paint will be delayed. Do you have any information about the paint. Please advise!

Duke11,

What your dealership is telling you is correct. At this time I do not have information on how long of a delay there will be. I don’t think it would be too long. I suggest that you keep in touch with your dealership to stay updated on the availability of the paint. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

Elizabeth, Cadillac Customer Service

duke11,

Unfortunately, at this time I have not been provided with a date of when the Crystal Red Tincoat will be available on the 2012 SRX. If I do get provided with a date, I will post here to let you know. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

Elizabeth, when this thread was started you wrote "I don't think it will be to long". The fact is that you have no idea how backed up the paint is so you just told people what they wanted to hear instead of the truth. Now, you don't even answer people who ask. I would say both responses are disrespectful.

Checked with my dealer and he said they were backed up because of the earthquake in Japan but they're not backed up anymore. Now I'll tell the reason I came onto this website in the first place. In the dealership near me there was a Cadillac CTS parked next to a Chevy Cruze. They both had Crystal Red Tintcoat paint. The cost on the Caddy was $995 and the Chevy was $325. Maybe the Caddy is 10-15% larger but I really don't see any reason for that much difference. I wonder if our friendly customer service representative wants to weigh in on this one as well as the status of the paint availability. Or, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all.

I guess you don't practice what you preach.

Is asking a question about pricing disrespectful? Is asking asking why A Cadillac Customer Care Representative on this website won't answer a question disrespectful? If some one wants to be on this forum and call themselve a Cadillac Customer Care Representative then I think they should be able to answer for themselve. Not just the "Isn't it great we all have Caddys" questions, but the hard questions.

You are a disrespectful ingrate. To quote Cadillac Customer Svc "If I do get provided with a date, I will post here to let you know." They have not posted again. Obviously (to everyone except you, apparently) they don't have the date. Now you will never know.
