Yes if you are runnning higher boost you will need to do this. Disconnect the line/tube from the top port of the blower going to the solenoid (marked X on the tube) cap the port (blower/manifold side) and leave the other end of that line (tube) open to atmosphere.

Over 12psi a 9.1" pulley w no headers will get you there I believe

Jeff,

I believe Jesse (Wait4Me) stated that the 'puter will bleed off boost levels that go above 12psi.
By doing the above mod, the 'puter will never know the vehicle is "overboosting".
Regardless, if you put any size pulley on your car, I would just do this and forget about it.
