AutoWeek magazine did a recent short test of the FWD and AWD 2012 SRX:

Skimmed the linked articles. Thanks!!!! Here is an enigma, at least it is to me. How can the 2012 SRX with the new engine top the market leader Lexus RX350 in horsepower and torque, weigh less, and still post slower 0-60 times @ 7.6 seconds? Well, at least the new 2012 3.6L V6 is as quick as the 2010-2011 SRX turbo.

Interesting reads. PJ1520, the dynamics of the 0-60 timed runs are often different between testers. MOST testers "power brake" enough to avoid a wheel spin, but get a lot higher than idle RPM, then floor it. AWD vs FWD makes a big difference in traction and of course weight. They normally turn OFF traction Control to avoid reduced eng timing/brake application. Then air temp makes a big diff too. Colder, denser air yields more HP. So, was the test at 35*F or 110*F?? Never mind altitude diffs also.

So " 0-60" is a very subjective number and I usually look at 3 tests and take the average, understanding I will not see that number personally without some aggressive moves. A 1 second diff is not uncommon between testers.
