New 2011 BD sedan. Got 1600 miles on the clock and have done a good job sticking to the "break-in" procedure (it was damn hard). :bonkers: I want to change the oil and start having fun. Few questions:

1. What weight Mobil 1 does everyone run. I assume 5W30 (6 quarts)
2. Regarding filter. Is the standard GM filter good (part number?) or is there something better?
3. Any other things to know/

Thanks in advance

I'm using 10w30 but I live in Oklahoma where it's 100+ degrees all summer.
I'm using the stock AC Delco filter also. Part # skips me at the moment.

After this oil and filter change, you Caddy dealer will take care of oil changes everytime the oil life drops below 30%.

I am using k&N performance gold filter part number HP-1017. Readily available to me..
I ran Mobile-1 5w-30 per the manual until I changed engines.

Be prepared for a barrage of opinions. :)

You know, they don't really require Mobil 1 any more due to it flowing so well, and some cars having leaks. I use Pennzoil full synthetic just in case. I do run a Mobil 1 filter though; M1-113. Personally, if I needed more protection while hot, I'd run the 5W-40, like the Germans use. The book does say to stay with the 5W for startup flow.
