I have never seen one of these in person. Only in old ads. Has anyone seen one in this color? It is so loud. I think there is a part of me somewhere that likes it... Hmm. Maybe some 24k gold rims from the '57 Eldo? Lol

That was popular in the 90s. Almost every luxury or near-luxury American car came in a champagne color. It was retro-chic at the time.

"The modern golden age" in the most literal interpretation possible. I don't care for it, personally.

It seems like I have seen one in that color before. Very interesting, to say the least.

That color wasn't "champagne" but rather "gold." In reality it wasn't as bright or garish as pictured in the ad. I don't remember the color being poular in the nineties, but in the 1950's and "60's there quite a few to be seem, especially on Buicks (an early boss of mine had an Electra 225 that was gold with a white vinyl top).

From my experience, arriving in somthing like that, and parking it in front of a Paris bistro, would get you pretty ba service to say the least!

The gold color in that Deville was not as it shows in that pic...that's just bad photography, bad Photoshop, or bad printing.

The actual color was this:

78413

Back in the 60's it was quite common to sit down with the sales rep and order the car you wanted - your options and deletions. For GM anyway, for an extra $100 or so you could get several of another line's paint colors - If you wanted a Pontiac GTO with Chevelle SS Emerald Green Metallic paintwork you could do it.
