View Full Version : radio antenna compatability issue

I just swapped the factory head unit in my 1989 Brougham for the head unit out of a 1991 Deville. I have the wiring harness and adapters covered, and everything works great, except for the antenna. The antenna connection in the car is apparently slightly too big or something, because it wont plug into the back of the 92 head unit. The female ends in the backs of the units look similar, but the one on the 92 head unit does seem to be slightly smaller. Is there some sort of size adapter i can buy or am i missing something obvious here?

Try looking on ebay for what you need or stop in best buy.

I say a trip to the junkyard is in order (for a harness end)

The problem is not in the harness, but in the antenna pin itself. ebay search yields this:

if this isnt what i need, its very similar.

I see those a lot at the stereo shops. Probably wont be too hard to find. Stop at a best buy install bay, they sell right out the shop and should know what you're talking about. Best Buy is a little pricey though.
