Anybody have a good how to, or DIY write up?

Is it just a stock grill they painted?

If so it's pretty easy.

jack car up, remove front wheels, remove the fender flares, remove 2 10mm bolts on each side, remove the enginve cover and the bolts up front

get something to plug the head light cleaner hose.

Remove the plastic fasteners from the bottom., pull whole bumper out (unhook your fog lights somewhere in there when you feel comfy)

then you should see metal clips that hold the grils in, remove those, a few more screws and then re assemble.

Pulling the grill is pretty easy if you are used to working on cars at all.

I don't have a DIY, but will answer any questions if you have them.

few pics of mine broken down.

is the upper grilled riveted it?

Domsz06
07-27-11, 04:59 PM
no.

It's screwed and clipped into the frame.

everything you see in my last pic is either screwed or clipped together. You can take it apart at will. Only rivits are just the two you see in the black framing thing, that have no signifigance to the grills.

All done, it took a few hours but I had a lot of breaks lol. Its 104 here in DFW and working out in this heat sucks but it was worth it! Very happy with the out come.

I want to do this but if I'm taking the nose off, a heat exchanger must go on.

I used plasti dip on the fog light inserts and it turned out well.
I used Krylon fusion on the grills with some clear coat and it looks good. I also said F that chipping sh!t and clear bra'd the upper and lower grill.
Looks tits
I'll post some pics up soon.
Also the chrome is not easy to paint over so either get it media blasted or bleach works well taking the chrome and copper off without damaging the plastic.
Oven cleaner also works well.

Nah after I developed some patients and got over the 110 degree garage temps it wasn't to bad lol. Wish I had an HX here to put on, you'd think with right at 700rw I would have already done that

Hey Junkie could you take some pics farther back please...Thanks.

Tomorrow I can for sure, I've already got a ton more compliments on the car.

I wish, sending them back to D3 as a core

696 is a best rw number so far. I feel like as of now its well over 700rw but we'll see. On the nitrous my AIT/2's are sub 80 degrees so its not a huge must IMO. All though I do want a nice HX and upgraded pump, thinking about doing a ported blower/E85 tune

Is this the D3 Noir Package? Did you have to send them your stock or did they just ship you a new one?
